founded in
1992 by
John W.
Cassidy,
M.D. Dr.
Cassidy’s
vision was
to create
a
transitional
and
residential
rehabilitation
environment
for
patients
with
acquired
brain
injuries
that
combine
medical
approaches
with
natural,
social and
environmental
influences.
Touchstone
provides
treatment
and
rehabilitation
in a
residential
environment
on a
tranquil,
wooded
26-acre
site just
north of
Houston in
Conroe,
TX.
Touchstone
offers
customized
treatment
programs
designed
to help
individuals
with known
or
suspected
brain
injury or
neurological
deficits
progress
to their
highest
functional
level
possible.
Touchstone
offers
both
on-campus
and
off-campus
housing in
home-like
settings
for
residents
based on
their
needs.
Touchstone
Neurorecovery
Center
programs
are
accredited
by the
Commission
on
Accreditation
of
Rehabilitation
Facilities
(CARF).
Touchstone
utilizes a
medically
driven
team
approach
with a
medical
director,
physician
assistants,
and
24-hour
nursing
coverage.
The
Touchstone
team has
expertise
in
physical
therapy,
occupational
therapy,
speech and
language
pathology,
cognitive
therapy,
vocational
therapy,
behavior
management,
and
comprehensive
case
management
among
other
services.

experience

disabilities.
Dr.
Cassidy
speaks
internationally
and has
authored a
number of
papers and
books
dedicated
to
improving
the
understanding
and
treatment
of
individuals
with
acquired
brain
injury.
He is the
author of
