Orientation
This
program
conducts a
comprehensive
assessment
of each
client’s
vocational
potential
to
determine
appropriate
programming
required
to meet
each
client’s
respective
psycho-social
adjustment
needs.
Note:
Touchstone
Neurorecovery
Center is
contracted
with Texas’s
Department
of
Assistive
and
Rehabilitative
Services (DARS)
to provide
vocational
services.
Personal
Social
Adjustment
Training
(PSAT)
PSAT is a
structured
class
designed
to meet
the unique
needs of
each
individual
and
address a
variety of
vocational
impediments.
This
service is
specifically
designed
to address
work-related
behaviors
that
inhibit
clients’
abilities
to
successfully
search for
a job and
achieve
and
maintain
employment.
Job
Readiness
Training
(JRT)
In this
structured
group
training
program,
clients
build the
practical
and
behavioral
skill-set
necessary
to conduct
a job
search and
obtain
competitive
and
sometimes
supported
employment.
The
curriculum
focuses on
teaching
clients
the
appropriate
strategies,
tactics,
and
behaviors
that can
help in
finding
and
securing
long-term
employment.
Job
Placement
Services
This
service
involves a
Job
Placement
Specialist
providing
clients
with job
search
training
and
support to
help
clients
obtain and
enter into
competitive
employment.
The
ultimate
goal is to
match the
client
with a job
that is
consistent
with his
or her
unique
strengths,
interests,
abilities,
capabilities,
desired
employment
goal, and
working
conditions.
Associated
skills
training
includes,
but is not
limited
to,
application
completion,
interviewing,
resume
writing,
and
targeted
job
searching.
Touchstone
offers
additional
follow-up
services
in effort
to ensure
a
comfortable
transition
into the
work
environment
for the
client and
employer
and at
least
90-day
stable job
retention.
Supported
Employment
The
Supported
Employment
(SE)
program
serves
clients
living
with
significant
disabilities
that are
in need of
ongoing
employment
support
services
within an
integrated
setting.
Touchstone
professionals
identify
and pair
clients
with the
most
appropriate
job
opportunities
and
provide
ongoing
support to
help
clients
obtain and
maintain
fulfilling
employment.
SE
services
may
include
individualized
job
coaching,
job
development,
job
readiness,
job
retention,
transportation
assistance,
adaptive
or
assistive
technology
recommendations,
specialized
job
training,
and
one-on-one
supervision.
Touchstone
SE
professionals
work with
clients
and
employers
in effort
to ensure
long-term,
successful
job
retention.
On-Campus
Employment
Opportunities
Touchstone
Neurorecovery
Center
provides a
variety of
on-campus
employment
opportunities
to assess
clients’
development
under
actual
working
conditions,
with a
particular
focus on
safety
awareness,
social
behaviors,
and
employment
practices.
These
opportunities
help
clients
improve
physical
stamina,
increase
cognitive
ability
and
improve
work
quality
and speed
of
production
in a
secure,
monitored
environment.
On-campus
employment
opportunities
exist for
auto
detailing
and
horticulture
and within
the
on-campus
craft and
print
shops.
